Google Releases Stock Keyboard For Android 4.0
Google has released
its stock keyboard available to download via Google Play to all devices running
Android 4.0 or above in certain English-speaking markets. The keyboard, which
was previously only found on Google's Nexus devices, comes with libraries for
26 languages, supports the ability to select next word suggestions and enables
users to form words by "swiping" across the keyboard, a feature also
known as gesture typing.
The keyboard also
supports voice recognition or voice typing for composing simple messages. The
keyboard will initially be available to download to all devices running Android
4.0 and above in, what Google described as, "English speaking locales,"
though the company has stated that it will be making it available in more
countries soon.
