Hotmail
customers ’upgraded’ to Outlook.com
Microsoft has been,
for a while, telling its Hotmail.com customers to migrate to its new and
improved email service, “Outlook.com.”
The company has now
announced that it has completed upgrading all its Hotmail customers to
Outlook.com and that the service now has 400 million active accounts. From the
user's perspective, the Hotmail.com addresses will continue to work despite the
switch over to Outlook.com.
Hotmail.com, the 14
year-old free email service, was founded by Sabeer Bhatia, an Indian American
entrepreneur. It was later purchased by Microsoft. Outlook.com users can now
enjoy deeper integration with SkyDrive, Microsoft says.
